This fast, easy-to-learn game turns every round into a group event, with players cheering each other on, tempting fate, and watching a promising score disappear in a single flip. Knowing when to stop matters, but taking the risk is half the fun.
Now the award-nominated favorite offers even more ways to play, from holiday editions starring the Grinch and Jack Skellington to Liquid Death and With a Vengeance, where the deck has even more ways to turn on you.
In Flip 7, players receive cards one at a time and decide whether to stay or risk another draw. Number cards add to your score, while modifiers and actions can double totals, provide second chances, force extra draws, or end someone’s turn.
The catch is hiding in the deck’s unusual distribution. There is one 1, two 2s, three 3s, and so on up to twelve 12s. High numbers are worth more points, but every copy makes that number more likely to appear again. Draw a duplicate of any number in your line and you bust, scoring nothing for the round.
Collect seven different number cards without busting and you Flip 7, immediately ending the round and earning a 15-point bonus. Play continues until someone reaches 200 points, but the player with the highest total wins.

Flip 7: With a Vengeance is a standalone sequel for groups that want more direct conflict. Its expanded 108-card deck adds negative modifiers and take-that actions that can steal cards, swap them, slash a score, or force an opponent to draw four cards. No one’s total is safe simply because they decided to stay.
Flip 7: The Grinch gives the classic 94-card game a trip to Who-ville. Numbers become groups of Whos, and familiar action cards feature characters from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It plays like traditional Flip 7, making it an easy pick for holiday gatherings.
Flip 7: Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas invites Jack Skellington and the citizens of Halloween Town to take over game night. Players collect presents instead of standard numbers while navigating the same escalating danger of drawing a duplicate. It is classic Flip 7 dressed for both Halloween and Christmas.
Flip 7: Liquid Death gives the original game a grim makeover and adds two exclusive actions: Kill a Card and Murder the Modifiers. It keeps the familiar race to 200 points while introducing a few more opportunities for the table to interfere.
Designer Eric Olsen turned one decision into a party game capable of filling the table with cheers, groans, and terrible judgment calls. That deceptively simple formula earned the original Flip 7 a 2025 Spiel des Jahres nomination and an expanding lineup of new editions.
