This weekend, the bosses are waiting.

Warlord players can challenge two of organized play’s most dangerous opponents, Neuroscape players can open Genesis Unlimited before its official release, and Pokémon Trainers can bring the excitement of Worlds home to Arizona.

Here is what is happening at Gamers Guild from August 21–23.

Face the Dragon Lord at North Phoenix

The Warlord: Saga of the Storm Challenge System turns organized play into a campaign where victory can earn you the card you just defeated. This Saturday, Dragon Lord Dreq Qor-Teth and Overlord Diabolus Ryden are waiting at Gamers Guild North Phoenix.

Join the $5 Saga, Best-of-Three tournament to compete for promo cards, store credit and the opportunity to challenge both powerful opponents.

Tournament participation is not required to face Dreq. Bring a Saga-legal deck and an unpunched Overlord, defeat the Dragon Lord and the card is yours.

Details: Warlord Dragon Lord Challenge, Saturday, August 22. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the tournament starts at 11:30 a.m.

Open Neuroscape: Genesis Unlimited Before Release

Neuroscape TCG’s Genesis Unlimited officially releases on August 28, but players at both Gamers Guild locations can open the set early during this weekend’s prerelease events.

Each player will open six Genesis Unlimited booster packs and build a minimum 30-card Cyberdeck. Pair it with a 25-card RAM deck, then battle through three Best-of-Three rounds to see what your new cards can do. RAM decks will be available to borrow during the event.

Everyone who completes the event receives two additional Genesis Unlimited booster packs and more. Each round win earns another booster pack.

Details: North Phoenix Neuroscape Prerelease, Saturday, August 22. Registration begins at 4 p.m. and the event starts at 4:30 p.m.

Tempe Neuroscape Prerelease: Sunday, August 23. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and the event starts at 6:30 p.m.

Entry is $42 plus tax, and each event is capped at 24 players.

Celebrate Pokémon Worlds at Gamers Guild

The 2026 Pokémon World Championships are taking over San Francisco, and Gamers Guild is bringing part of the celebration home to Arizona.

Trainers at both stores can compete in a Standard tournament and earn a special Pokémon TCG promo featuring Pikachu against a San Francisco-inspired background, while supplies last. The winner of each age division (Junior, Senior, and Masters) will receive a “WINNER” stamped version of the promo. Winners will also take home Worlds Celebration-themed card sleeves and a deck box.

Deck lists are required, but paper copies will be available at the store. Swiss rounds will be Best of One, followed by a Best-of-Three top cut.

Details: Tempe Pokémon Worlds Celebration: Saturday, August 22 at 11 a.m.

North Phoenix Pokémon Worlds Celebration: Sunday, August 23 at 11 a.m.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at both stores. Entry is $15.

Sneak Peek: Our Biggest Modern Event Yet

The Modern RCQ season is ending with one more major battle.

On August 29, Gamers Guild North Phoenix will host a competitive Magic: The Gathering Modern 5K with a prize pool that scales with attendance. At the 64-player cap, nearly $5,000 in Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit sealed product will be on the line.

For every 16 players who enter, one Neon Yellow Cavern of Souls will also be raffled. Our TCG department will be on-site to buy, trade and sell cards throughout the event.

Details: North Phoenix, Saturday, August 29. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. and the player meeting starts at 10 a.m. Entry is $70, and deck lists are required.

Face the challenge waiting for you, crack into a new set or celebrate Worlds with your fellow Trainers. We will see you at Gamers Guild.
