Warhammer: The Old World Players, March on North Phoenix for a 750-Point RTT

You don't need a full 2,000-point army to spend a day battling for the Old World.

On Saturday, October 10, Gamers Guild North Phoenix is hosting A Battlemarch Rogue Trader Tournament, a compact Warhammer: The Old World tournament built around 750-point armies. Registration begins at 10:00 AM, dice start rolling at 10:30 AM, and entry is $10.

For veteran generals, it is a chance to put a tightly built force through its paces without hauling a grand army across the Valley. For newer players, the smaller format offers a friendlier on-ramp into competitive play. The model count drops, but the stakes on every decision do not.

Small Warhammer Armies Make Every Choice Count

At 750 points, redundancy is a luxury few can afford. Every regiment, character, upgrade, and piece of wargear has to earn its spot on the list.

A big-ticket centerpiece can still swing a game, but leaning on one may thin out the bodies needed to hold ground or the tools needed for a tough matchup. Spreading the list wider offers more answers, but it can water down your punch when it matters most. Deployment counts. Movement counts. Lose the wrong unit at the wrong moment, and the whole game can tilt in an instant.

That pressure is the draw. Battlemarch keeps the scale tight while holding onto the rank-and-flank decisions that make The Old World what it is.

Legacy Armies Are Welcome

The tournament opens its doors to legacy armies built under the officially released Renegade Crowns pack.

That means more factions on the table, more long-loved collections getting their moment, and matchups you will not see every week. It also makes the field far harder to scout ahead of time. A list built to answer the usual suspects could just as easily run into an older force packing a totally different mix of speed, armor, magic, or raw numbers.

The safest bet is a balanced list and a solid read on what your own army does best. Across five rounds, adapting on the fly may matter just as much as landing your dream matchup.

Bring the Army You Have Been Building

The Warhammer community has never been shy about the hobby side of the game. Ranked units, banners, weathered paintwork, and carefully chosen heraldry can turn a table into something worth pausing to admire.

If a full army has been slowly taking shape under your brush, 750 points is a finish line well within reach. If it is already done, this is its chance to step out of the display case and onto the table for five rounds of play.

A Battlemarch RTT is open to everyone, league veterans and newcomers alike. The field caps at 18 players. Each round runs 90 minutes, with a 30-minute lunch break built in. Store-credit prizes go to first, second, and third place.

Build the 750-point list, leave room for surprises, and register for A Battlemarch RTT at Gamers Guild North Phoenix.
