Cyberpunk Trading Card Game is one of the most anticipated TCG releases of the year, and Gamers Guild players will have an early opportunity to get their hands on its cards.
Beginning September 22, Gamers Guild North Phoenix and Tempe will each host a four-week Cyberpunk TCG Beta Sealed League. Players will start with a Beta starter deck and two Welcome to Night City Beta booster packs, then expand their card pools with new packs as the league continues.
By the end of the league, every participating player can receive eight Beta booster packs in addition to their starter deck, and even more packs are waiting in the prize pool.
Build a Deck That Evolves Every Week
The league begins before the first matches are played. Starting September 16, registered players can pick up a Beta starter deck and their first two booster packs.
Players may choose between The Heist and Embracing Power starter decks. Once the packs are opened and the cards are registered, players can use those pulls to begin modifying their decks.
The card pool grows from there. Players receive two more Welcome to Night City Beta booster packs after completing their matches in each of the first three weeks. Every new card becomes another potential upgrade, sideboard option or reason to rethink the deck before the next matchup.
Cards opened through the league remain part of that player’s registered pool, but participants will also have limited opportunities to trade cards of equal rarity. The trading rules give players another way to hunt for the piece their deck needs without turning the league into an open constructed format.
Whether you already have a strategy in mind or will be learning the game one booster at a time, the league is designed to let players experiment, adapt, and see what their growing collections can do.
Play on Your Schedule
Players will be assigned two opponents each week and can coordinate their matches through the Gamers Guild USA Discord. Matches must be played at the store where the player registered, but participants can work with their opponents to choose a day and time that fits their schedules before the weekly deadline.
Each league match is a Best-of-One game with no sideboard. Players earn points for completing matches, winning games, and finishing a collection of in-game and community achievements.
Those achievements reward far more than victories. Players can earn points by teaching someone new how to play, making trades, sharing a favorite league moment in Discord, or pulling off challenges such as controlling three Gigs valued at seven, attaching three Gear to one character, or winning in sudden death.
Each week, players can earn up to eight points through their assigned matches and up to 12 additional points through achievements. That means there are plenty of ways to climb the standings, even if every game does not go according to plan.
More Beta Packs Are on the Line
Final rankings will determine the order in which players select prizes, with Beta booster bundles ranging from four packs to a 14-pack top prize based on an eight-player league. Prizing may be adjusted according to the number of participants at each location.
Each store will run its own separate league and requires at least four registered players. Late registration will be available, although matches from completed weeks will count as missed. Late entrants will still receive the appropriate products to bring their card pool up to date for the next week of play.
