An 8x2mm magnet N52 is a neodymium magnet characterized by its dimensions of 8mm in diameter and 2mm in thickness. This type of material is known for being the strongest type commercially available, and they are composed of an alloy of neodymium, iron, and boron (NdFeB). With a pull force of approximately 1200 grams, they are exceptionally powerful relative to their size. 8x2mm magnets are used in various applications where a strong, compact power of attraction is required, such as in electronics, industrial machinery, and hobbyist projects like wargaming and miniatures. Their small size combined with their robust magnetic properties makes them ideal for precision tasks that demand reliable and potent magnetic force.

Neodymium Magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet commercially available. They have replaced other types of magnets in the many applications of modern products that require strong permanent magnets.
The references N35 and N52 are measurements for the quality of the magnet material. The higher the grade (the number following the 'N'), the stronger the magnet. These will explain two things:
- How much "magnetic energy" per volume is contained in this magnet material
- Up to what temperature the magnet can be used
Magnets that begin with an "N" should be used up to 80°C (176°F).
The highest grade of neodymium magnet currently available is N52.
