Role Overview
A Technical Marketing Specialist at Gamers Guild plans, builds, runs, and optimizes our paid digital advertising, and makes sure customers can find us wherever they search, including traditional search engines and AI assistants. This role owns campaign setup, tracking, budgets, and reporting across Meta and Google Ads (and other platforms as needed), turning spend into measurable store visits, online sales, event attendance, and qualified business leads. You will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, the design team, and leaders across our retail stores, Forks & Boards, e-commerce, and Publisher Services to make sure every dollar is tracked, every campaign is accurate, and every result is reported clearly.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, build, launch, and manage paid campaigns in Meta Ads Manager (Facebook and Instagram) and Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, Display, YouTube, and Shopping)
- Manage campaign budgets and pacing, and report spend against results to the Chief Marketing Officer on a regular schedule
- Build and manage audiences, including retargeting, lookalike, customer list, and location-based audiences for our physical stores
- Run structured A/B tests on creative, copy, audiences, bidding, and landing pages, document what was learned, and apply it to future campaigns
- Manage Google Merchant Center product feeds and Shopping campaigns for our e-commerce store, keeping pricing, availability, and product data accurate
- Maintain Google Business Profiles for each store location (hours, events, photos, posts, and review responses in coordination with store leadership)
-
Support technical SEO: site audits, page speed, structured data and schema markup, metadata, internal linking, and indexing issues
- Improve AI discoverability (sometimes called AI Optimization, AEO, or GEO) so our stores, products, events, and services are accurately represented in AI assistants and AI-generated search results
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that turn platform data into clear recommendations, not just numbers
- Partner with the content team on ad creative and landing pages, providing specs, performance feedback, and testing ideas
- Support B2B lead generation campaigns for Publisher Services, including lead forms, tracking, and handoff to our CRM
- Ensure every ad, audience, and targeting choice complies with platform policies, privacy requirements, and our Code of Conduct, with particular care for ads that could reach minors
- Stay current on platform changes, privacy updates, and new ad formats, and recommend when and how we should adopt them
