For the second year in a row, the Phoenix New Times has named Gamers Guild USA the Best Game Store in the Valley.
Best of Phoenix celebrates the people and places that make this city special, and being recognized again alongside so many great local businesses means the world to our team. This award belongs to our community, and we're grateful to every one of you who made it happen.
It's been a big year. Earlier in the year we began supporting indie games by fulfilling their orders, Kickstarters, and even organizing events for them. Indie darlings like Neuroscape, and Chrono Core looked to us to help with supporting them. In August, we moved into a 49,000-square-foot warehouse in central Phoenix, which lets us carry more products at both of our Valley stores and as well as gave us the room to fulfill the biggest gaming Kickstarter of all time when we partnered with Cyberpunk TCG! Our North Phoenix store, with its bar and restaurant, has become a home base for open play, tournaments, and events of every kind, while our Tempe store provides a more cozy and traditional gaming experience.
What we're proudest of is that the New Times recognized what our stores stand for, not just what's on the shelves. Both locations are built to be true third spaces: free play from our in-store game libraries, complimentary water, and sensory rooms and earplugs for neurodivergent guests who need a break. Every store enforces our Code of Conduct, because gaming should be safe and welcoming for everyone, with particular care for kids, LGBTQ+ gamers, people of color, and women. You make that real every time you welcome a new player to your table.
